Does she really mean ice on the windows?

Yes. she does.

and in case that wasn't a clue, now that the sky is all blue and sunny.....my weathermen are back making it perfectly clear.

I have to get a camera!! You have to see the stalagmite of ice that has formed in between the windows in our bedroom. And you can't see out any of them. I get depressed by it, thinking about how wasteful this old building is with heat, but at least our windows look neat-o!

bloody hell. respect to you, canadians. you will colonize space...

colonize space! that would seem a most uncanadian thing to do

but thanks for respecting our respect for the weather ;)

I know, wrong verb. But if you adapt to those weather conditions you could handle any "alien" planet, no? I remember my first time in Canada in the Winter, I was convinced I was in Alien...

Maybe we could just lightly camp around the place, starting with the cold side of Mercury?

hahahaha! I had a violent reaction to camping anywhere called the cold side of anything. It's bloody -35 this morning before our friendly wind chill (only -40 today, which it turns out is exactly the equilibrium) AND I can't see out my windows because all the air outside has frozen into a lovely dense fog.
