Yay! I haven't been tagged in a while. Ginger tagged me for 5 things you probably don't know about me.
1. I was a huge fan of Buckshot as a kid. My parents met him at some function and brought back an autographed photo for me. It was my prized possession. I mean look at that photo, straight out of Cowtown in the late 70's. He had a great voice a bit like my uncle and didn't everyone love that Benny the Bear? He was so matter of fact. I see now that the show was on at noon which means I only saw it until halfway through kindergarten when I was suddenly sent off to immersion school and that meant the end of lunch at home for me.
2. My sister-in-law gave birth to a baby boy. Today! I'm so excited. I dreamed last night that I was teaching her other son to play the piano. The whole time I was thinking 'but this boy doesn't seem like the piano playing type....'
3. The water is shut off in my apartment. Today! I forgot about it last night when I decided not to fill the Britta because I could do it in the morning. When I decided the plants could wait one more day for water. When I decided that I would wait to wash my hair until today. So I guess what this tells you is: I don't wash my hair every day. It's getting curlier and curlier the greyer it gets and I've discovered that 'washing' with conditioner only is the way to go. I use shampoo about once a week. No, it is not gross although I am aware that it sounds that way. It's actually a minor miracle that it works so well.
4. Two pieces I teach every year to at least 3 children: Fur Elise, and Canon in D. I'm now beyond the point of hating them and instead feel rather numb when they play on someone's cell phone. It used to drive me crazy. Currently I have 2 students playing each of them. It's not really by choice but I just don't feel I can say no when a student shows interest in a piece of music all on their own.
5. My teeth are much bigger than my small mouth allows for. This gave me 5 fun years of braces and the pulling of 4 teeth to make room for all of the rest of them. I have great trouble holding my jaw open at the dentist, although someone did mention it was likely due to the 'reefing' on the jaw that occurred while I was unconscious and having my wisdom teeth pulled. (the only time I've been under general anesthetic which was also the one time I was sure I was experiencing my moment of death)

I knew you were a Buckshot fan!! God that intro... so great.
The rest is new to me, and it's funny, I was just thinking about the status of s-i-l's baby. Exciting!
Don't you have a big mouth? ;)
Yes well, I figure it's all compensation for the actual small mouth. Also in this case....at least I didn't give you the name. I haven't even told B the name yet so she can tell him.
Congrats to your SIL. New babies! Hurrah!
And I'm glad you liked being tag. I always tagging others in fears taht they will be all grumpy:)
I did write a comment on your photos but blogger ate it. You look great, and I'm so happy to have a face to go with your writting.
Piper only has her hair washed once a week:) And it's not gross at all. And I only wash my hair every other, and sometimes will go two days. i don't think hair was meant to be washed compulsively.
I totally agree about the hair. I usually wash mine every third day and I like how I can do different things with it depending on what stage it's at. I did an experiment once where I didn't wash it for 5 months, I just rinsed it a lot. It was fine.
Dear 'Anonymous',
How about next time you set up a blog for your extensive ramblings rather than imposing them on the readers of this one.
thanks :D
Never heard of Buckshot! Pretty fun - we had Captain Kangaroo.
I'll work on the tag over spring break!
Congrats on the new nephew! Sweet babies!
*so* boring. so glad I watched. :)
and brand new to buckshot -- love it! in addition to the Capt'n we had a local show called Gene's Junction in Denver -- which it appears, regrettably, did not make YouTube.
I have to get all four wisdom teeth pulled in April and braces by the beginning of the summer... which should look really good with my new glasses, oh, yes... maybe I should try to find a pair just like Buckshot's.
(my hair looks hideous if I wash it everyday. It needs at least two days in between to ruminate.)
Ooops, Sr. D was borrowing my computer and forgot to sign off of blogger... that was me up there!:~)
Amy I have had glasses since grade 2, just didn't happen to have them in the bathroom. Many have looked just like Buckshot's but, thank the universe, I don't think they make them like that anymore. You'll have to make do with more modern and attractive ones ;)
ruminating hair, an excellent image. also your new profile pic.
Wow, I learned so much in such a short expanse about you! I've never heard of Buckshot, don't know what to make of that. Für Elise is the very earliest piece of any kind of music that I remember. I later learned to play it though my piano teacher used to get upset because I played from memory rather than reading the music and ignoring the notations she'd put there.
The tag game sounds like fun, how does one get "in?"
tag narthex! now you just randomly write 5 things about yourself and tag 5 others.
